With parking becoming an issue since Total Parking Solutions (TPS) stopped providing the ANPR camera parking enforcement system, Parking Control Management (PCM) will start operating parking enforcement with a clamping operation.
New Parking Rules
All Cars parking in Bell Chase must display a permit
Each flat is allocated two permits, but only one can be used at a time
There will be a clamping release fee of around £135 with a daily storage fee.
Advantages of Clamping when compared to Automatic Number Plate Recognition system:
Doesn’t rely on a computer system and rules to decide whether the car should be in the car park
Can not avoid the ANPR camera by driving down paths and around barriers.
Fines are applied instantly and not several weeks later
A permit system can operate which will simplify the registration of authorised cars.
Company and Lease car drivers will not have to pay additional fees as they pay the charges directly.
Disadvantages are:
Fines tend to be higher if a mistake is made (ie – permit is not displayed)
C lampers do not have a good reputation.
Hopefully PCM will provide a satisfactory service. They can’t be any worse then TPS
